At the first edition of the Club Export meetings organised by the World Trade Center in Algiers, Cevital, Algeria’s leading private group, chaired by Issad Rebrab, stated its intent to increase export revenues within the next three years to USD 3 billion per year.
“We have the means to transform our country from an importer to an exporter”, said Issad Rebrab, CEO of the Cevital Group.
To achieve its objective, Cevital will rely, in particular, on the performance of its subsidiaries, Agro-Cevital (oil and sugar), Oxxo (PVC windows and doors) and MFG (flat glass).
In addition to its traditional markets of electrical appliances, flat glass and food, Cevital is set to invest in new industries, specifically steel.
Africa is not the only destination for the Group, which exports its products, in particular sugar, to some 30 countries around the world.
The Brandt electrical appliance plant in Sétif will eventually grow to a capacity of 8 million–10 million units of which 100% of production is intended for export.
Promoting a development model based on the co-location of industrial activities on both sides of the Mediterranean, Issad Rebrab is developing world-scale plants equipped with the latest generation technology to compete on a level playing field with major stakeholders in these markets globally.
